The Sultans Of Thwing... LIVE at the Pot Still Coffee Shop at the Spirit Of Yorkshire Whisky Distill

On the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month performing live at the Pot Still, it’s the Sultans Of Thwing! - We're a jazz and blues band led by the legendary ex Bowie guitarist- John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson. With Chris Lea on the double bass, Gypsy John Horton on the resonator/ Gypsy jazz guitar, and myself on the drums, and occasionally, the guitar. We perform and mixture of Hutch’s fantastic songs, classic jazz standards and old acoustic blues numbers from way back.

We’ve been going for over a year at the Spirit Of Yorkshire at things are going from strength to strength, with Hutch leading the night, and Gypsy John and myself singing a few numbers each, when Hutch calls for it. Occasionally I’ll come out from behind the drums, and we’ll do a few Gypsy jazz tunes such as “Minor Swing”, “Nuages” And “Exactly Like You”. - which I always find great fun, and it goes down a storm..!

Tuesday Night Jazz & Blues - The Sultans of Thwing

Every other Tuesday, John 'Hutch' Hutchinson the veteran ex-Bowie guitarist will continue to bring his acoustic band The Sultans of Thwing to our unique venue, playing a mix of original songs, Swing Jazz and Vintage Blues. Keep an eye out for more details on our Facebook page and below.

Here's what the night includes…

Original songs, swing jazz and vintage blues. Every other Tuesday early evening at Yorkshire's first malt whisky distillery.

Please note; Our coffee shop will be open offering a stripped back menu featuring snacks, cakes and hot drinks.

Timings…

6.30pm/6.45pm: Doors open

7-9pm: Band Playing

9.30pm: On your way
